Hello Jazz Battery fans,
Saxophone player and lead Battery Jim Goetsch is the impresario behind the Avant Jazz Workshop, a series of shows usually at the Entropy Gallery in Santa Fe.
This Saturday the 19th is a celebration and listening party for a previously unreleased Anthony Braxton album recorded with local Santa Fe guitarist James Emery. Emery will be joined by Jim and local sax superstar Alex Murzyn to perform a Braxton piece called “Composition 167”
Braxton was a wildly prolific composer but a performance of his work is a rare event, and this will be a really special night. More information is available at the Avant Jazz Workshop site.
